The Sustainable Steps environment and sustainability programme has recently been granted an extension to run until March 2018. Towards the end of 2014, ProMo Cymru held an open workshop at The Abacus in Cardiff that gave people the opportunity to make their own furniture from old wooden pallets. Take a look at the video below and see what people had to say about it.
Arielle Tye, one of the workshop leaders tells us a bit more about how the workshop came about. “Everything here has been reused from all different types of materials. We didn’t think about using pallets at first but thought about making the building more sustainable in lots of different ways.”
“It’s definitely had an impact because we’re reducing our footprint by having this building but also we’re inspiring loads of other people because they’re coming into this space, seeing the furniture, and thinking “actually, we could start making some of this stuff ourselves”.”
